Last year, the administration team at St. Clare developed "Family Units" for all 360 girls. With one or two staff member "parents, approximately 20 girls make up a unit. There are units for the secondary students and units for the primary as well. Since one of the values learned in family units is looking out for others, the older girls often assist the younger ones with their family chores. One chore is washing their clothing. But the little ones must learn from the older girls as to how to do this chore. This is a skill they would have learned in their villages from their mothers, or older women, but never did because they came to St. Clare. Assisting the younger members of St. Clare is a family value treasured and practiced by the St. Clare students.
