Lilian with a Samburu woman

Now meet Lilian, a fifteen-year-old Samburu girl.  In 2015, Lilian’s uncles married her off after she completed eighth grade.  The husband, an older man with three additional wives, received a dowry of cows, goats and cash in exchange for her.  Afraid and without a voice to fight for her rights, Lillian suffered in silence until she ran away in 2017.  It was then that she found a home at St. Clare Centre for Girls.
