MIGHTY MERCY: What's happening?
Mercy, a St. Clare graduate, and junior at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia has an eight-week internship this summer with Deloitte in Philadelphia. Her internship will involve training and she will also be dealing directly with a client. Mercy says, “I am so excited for the whole experience and so ready to absorb everything. It’s just a great opportunity and I am so grateful for it and looking forward to other doors it will open.
In addition to getting the internship, Mercy has been nominated for the St. Catherine Medal given to a student who “represents the high ideas of a Catholic college education.” The student is selected based on leadership and service to Chestnut Hill College. Mercy, one of four nominees, feels it’s an honor just to be nominated. Mercy has also been accepted into Delta Epsilon Sigma. To qualify she needs to have a 3.5 g.p.a and be in the top 20% of her class. This society zeroes in on scholastic minded students. Mercy also was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, a second honor society. (The latter honor society just inducted her St. Clare classmate at Siena Heights University, Purity.) Mercy has also been actively involved in activities outside the classroom. As a result, she was also inducted into Phi Beta Delta.
Mercy is also looking forward to being an orientation leader for incoming freshmen. According to her, “I can’t wait for the freshmen students to be here. I will be there for them just as someone was there for me during my very first days.” She says that she is excited, as this will begin her senior year.
Congratulations on your outstanding achievements, Mercy. FOKO is very proud of you.
