LET THE FUN BEGIN!

Girls welcome with dance
Welcome to St. Clare, visitors!

Celebrations at St. Clare Centre for Girls happen all the time.  If there is a celebration there is some combination of singing, dancing, poetry reciting.  The girls get together with their tribal groups to perform songs and dances, which are part of their cultural backgrounds.  In addition to be enjoyable, these celebrations are an important part of the education at St. Clare because recalling and maintaining their tribal heritages is important for the girls.

Whenever visitors come to St. Clare, they are guaranteed a special celebration.  One thing the girls love to do is have one of the girls go into the audience and “drag” up one of their teachers, administrators and visitors to join in their dances.  They love to watch the adults who are trying very hard to keep up with the girls’ dance moves.

Madam Sue and some of the recent visitors to St. Clare were treated to one of these celebrations.  And of course, the girls selected them to get involved, which they did.  What an enjoyable time everyone had.
