GETTING GRANTS

The Grant Committee of Friends of Kenyan Orphans has been extremely busy finding sources of revenue to help the children supported by FOKO.  Chairing the committee is Marcy Hessling O’Neil assisted by committee members Bud Ozar, Moira Keefer, Mary Jo Johnson, and Kathy Partlow.  The committee has been meeting monthly exploring various grants and applying for funding.  Priorities include grants that will help finance the computer lab, especially with the purchase of computers,  grants that will allow the purchase of sets of books to increase literacy, a grant to finance a van which will be used to transport the girls to retreats along with cultural and sports competitions and a grant to build a bakery.  The group is committed to finding grants that will help us fund these projects.
