FEEDING STREET BOYS

Part of Father Riwa’s mission at the Children’s Village is to feed the street boys in Meru town.  On their recent trip to Kenya,  Bud and Sue accompanied Father Riwa on one of these trips. An incredible addition to this evening was three former students from St Francis (part of the Children’s Village) , helped distribute  "bread and milk". Two of these young men came to St Francis from Eldoret escaping the post election violence of 2007.  The other young man made his way to St Francis from the streets of Meru when he was nine. Remembering these three as frightened, lost children arriving at St Francis, but seeing them as mature charming university students affirmed for Bud and Sue the importance of the work with orphaned and abandoned children. Given the chance a child can soar from destitution to a healthy, successful life.
