Older members in a family unit

The administration team at St. Clare Centre for Girls has developed “Family Units” for all 360 girls.  Each unit has one to two staff members who act as “parents” for approximately 20 girls of mixed ages.  Within the units, the girls perform chores, plan a variety of activities among other things.  In addition, the members of the unit join together in weekly discussions on a variety of topics.

Madam Phaustine, St. Clare’s principal, notes, “There is a great deal more cooperation and a significant reduction in behavioral issues due to the ‘Family Units.’”

What a clever way to create family closeness for the girls at St. Clare.  Congratulations team!!
