BOMBASTIC BLOOMING
The first thing to see when coming through the gates of St. Clare is the “Welcoming Tree.” In addition to its extraordinary beauty, this tree is home to birds who build their nests upside down so snakes and predators cannot get to their young.
When St. Clare began, there were no buildings. Instead there were two mango trees. Under one of these trees, the children ate their meals under one and under the other they had their classes. It was between the two mango trees where the Welcoming Tree stood. The wall surrounding St. Clare and the entrance were built so that the Welcoming Tree would welcome all who come to St. Clare.
This tree continues to bloom as a sign of how St. Clare Centre has bloomed from its mango-tree-start-up to the number one school in the district and the number seven school in the state. Both this tree and St. Clare have come a long way. Each continues to grow and bloom.
